The AMELIA brand for children 0 to 8 was created in Milan in 2004.
AMELIA reinterprets classic children’s clothing using comfortable textiles and natural yarns.
Simplicity, sobriety and quality define the style. The articles frequently have little details like
hand-made shirring and stitching, which emphasize the continual search for a refined and poetic statement.
AMELIA AW11 – FABRICS
The main inspiration for AMELIA’s collection AW2011 is based on a sophisticated selection and combination of fabrics and colours. The predominant color of the winter are off-white, grey, dark blue and red, all mixed in different varieties of dual-color stripes, tartan, printed and solid color fabrics.
Everything is made of the highest quality, starting form the super-soft Italian jersey, at the heart of the collection, as well as fine corduroy in small flowers pattern (selected from the well known British ‘Liberty’ collection), as well as the top-quality corduroy for pinafore dresses and pants, to finish with the soft and warm boiled and double-face wool, for heavy jackets and coats.
Equally important is the merino-wool knitwear: AMELIA selected a top Australian yarn, all spun using the traditional oil carding processing in the famous Biella district.
The extraordinary fineness of the fibres and the accurate spinning process make this kind of merino wool an extremely soft and light-weighted yarn suitable for a very soft knitwear, with the best guarantee as far as performances and durability.
Our attention to details, particularly the hand-made stitching, are also crucial elements that make Amelia’s collection so special.
